Does Claude have a built-in Instagram connector?

Claude’s connector directory does not include an Instagram connector for DM automation. You add one as a custom connector: DMParrot is a remote MCP server that you add by URL, and it gives Claude tools for Instagram comment-to-DM funnels, keyword replies, tags, and broadcasts.

Can I connect Instagram to Claude for free?

You can add the connector, sign in, connect Instagram, and have Claude build and dry-run flows without paying. Sending live DMs needs an active plan. DMParrot has a 14-day free trial (card required), then plans start at $19 a month. Custom connectors in Claude itself are available on Claude’s free and paid plans, subject to Anthropic’s current limits.

Is it safe for my Instagram account?

DMParrot uses Meta’s official login and the Instagram messaging API. It never asks for your Instagram password. Meta’s rules still apply: one private reply per comment, and promotional messages only within 24 hours of the person contacting you.

How to connect Instagram to Claude

Claude has no built-in Instagram connector for DMs. Add DMParrot as a custom connector and Claude can build comment-to-DM funnels, keyword replies, and broadcasts on your Instagram account. Setup takes about five minutes.

Five steps

Switch to a professional Instagram account In Instagram settings, switch to a Creator or Business account and link it to a Facebook Page. Personal accounts cannot use the Instagram messaging API.
Add DMParrot as a connector in Claude In Claude, open Settings → Connectors → Add custom connector and paste https://dmparrot.com/mcp. In Claude Code, run claude mcp add --transport http dmparrot https://dmparrot.com/mcp.
Sign in Claude opens a browser window. Sign in with Google. This creates your DMParrot account. There is no API key to copy.
Connect Instagram through Meta Ask Claude to check your Instagram connection. It returns a link to Meta’s login. Approve the permissions for your Instagram account.
Describe your first funnel Tell Claude what to build, for example: “When someone comments GUIDE on my next reel, DM them the link to my guide.” Claude builds the flow, runs a dry run, and publishes it when you agree.

Add the connector

Open Settings → Connectors.
Click Add custom connector.
Name it DMParrot and paste https://dmparrot.com/mcp as the URL.
Click Connect and sign in with Google.

Connectors you add on claude.ai also appear in Claude Desktop and Claude Code when you use the same account.

Run: claude mcp add --transport http dmparrot https://dmparrot.com/mcp
Run /mcp inside Claude Code and choose dmparrot.
Sign in with Google in the browser window that opens.

Use --scope user to make the server available in every project.
