Instagram MCP server
An Instagram MCP server that runs your DMs.
Add one URL to Claude, ChatGPT, or Cursor. Your agent gets tools to build Instagram comment-to-DM funnels, keyword replies, tags, and broadcasts. A server-side engine sends the messages through the official Instagram API — no password, no local install.

How it differs from other Instagram MCP servers
Most Instagram MCP servers on GitHub wrap the Graph API for reading posts and insights, or drive a logged-in browser. They are useful for research. They are not built to answer thousands of comments while you sleep.
| DMParrot | Typical open-source server | |
|---|---|---|
| Hosting | Hosted remote server | Usually a local process you install and keep running |
| Sign-in | OAuth in the browser | API key, access token, or your Instagram password in a config file |
| Instagram access | Official Instagram messaging API | Graph API wrappers, browser sessions, or scraping |
| Comment-to-DM funnels | Yes — keyword triggers and private replies | Rare; most expose raw API calls only |
| Runs when your laptop is off | Yes — a server-side engine sends the DMs | Only while the agent session is open |
| Same comment, same DM | Yes — deterministic, no model in the send path | Depends on the agent replying each time |
| Dry run before going live | Yes — simulate_flow | No |
Looking for a ManyChat MCP?
ManyChat does not ship an official MCP server. The ManyChat MCP servers you will find are community wrappers or automation-platform bridges around the ManyChat API. They let an agent operate an existing ManyChat account — tag a subscriber, trigger a flow — but the flows themselves are still built on ManyChat’s canvas.
DMParrot starts from the other end. The MCP server is the product, so your agent builds the funnel itself, tests it with a dry run, and publishes it. If you use ManyChat for WhatsApp or a team inbox, keep it. If you only need Instagram funnels, read the ManyChat comparison.
Questions
- What is an Instagram MCP server?
- An MCP server is a set of tools an AI agent can call through the Model Context Protocol. An Instagram MCP server gives Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor, or another MCP client tools that act on an Instagram account. DMParrot’s tools build and run DM automations: comment-to-DM funnels, keyword replies, tags, and broadcasts.
- What is the DMParrot MCP server URL?
- https://dmparrot.com/mcp. It uses streamable HTTP with OAuth 2.1, so you add the URL to your client and sign in with Google in the browser. There is no API key or token to paste.
- Is there an official ManyChat MCP server?
- ManyChat does not publish its own MCP server. The ManyChat MCP servers you will find are community wrappers or Zapier-style bridges around the ManyChat API, and they need a ManyChat account and API key. DMParrot is a separate product: the MCP server is the whole interface, so your agent builds the funnels directly instead of operating a ManyChat account.
- Does it need my Instagram password?
- No. You connect Instagram through Meta’s official login, and DMParrot uses the Instagram messaging API. Servers that ask for a username and password automate a browser session, which breaks Instagram’s terms and risks the account.
- Which Instagram accounts work?
- Instagram professional accounts — Creator or Business — linked to a Facebook Page. Personal accounts cannot use the messaging API. Switching account type is free and takes about a minute in Instagram settings.
- Can the MCP server post photos or read any profile?
- No. DMParrot is for DM automation on your own account. It does not publish posts, and it does not scrape other profiles. If you need content publishing, use a different server alongside it.
- What does it cost?
- There is a 14-day free trial (card required). After that, plans start at $19 a month for 1,000 contacts, with no per-message charge inside a tier. You can connect the server and build flows before you start a trial; publishing live replies needs an active trial or plan.
